*The Fries test is a simple pass/fail test of disability representation (inspired by the Bechdel test) proposed by Kenny Fries:
“Does a work have more than one disabled character? Do the disabled characters have their own narrative purpose other than the education and profit of a nondisabled character? Is the character’s disability not eradicated either by curing or killing?1
**1-2: actively ableist and harmful; 3: no disability representation or themes; 4-5: some representation and some harm, or minimal representation and themes; 6-7: decent representation and themes; 8: excellent representation or themes or good representation and good themes; 9-10: high quality and nuanced representation and disability justice themes
